I think that in order to succeed in high school as a writer, I should learn how to organize my thoughts in a more clear and concise way. I would like to learn how to manage my essays and keep my writing organized. I would also like to learn more ways to write an essay. I feel this would help me because it would keep my writing unique, instead of the same format over and over again. Overall I hope to learn a lot this semester that will help me to be a successful writer

In order to succeed as a writer in high school, I need to learn good methods of writing in-class essays. While I can write effective pieces when I have time to revise and edit my thoughts, writing in class often feels messy and unorganized to me. I have a hard time writing by hand rather than typing. While this may sound like a matter of preference, I think it really does affect my writing. In Word I can clearly see the organization and structure of my paper, but when I use loose leaf things get mixed around and sometimes hard to follow. I do understand the importance of in-class essays, especially in high school, and that is why I would like to learn some useful methods specifically for in-class essays.

In order to succeed as a writer in high school I need to learn how to research better and do a better job of integrating what I have learned into an essay. I can do a good job of writing essays when I don't have to do a lot of research but when I am writing about a topic I don't know much about I
feel overwhelmed when I try to include a whole bunch of information into an essay.

To succeed as a writer in high school I need to know clearly how I'm writing my paper. I need to know how I should organize my major arguments and how I'm going to organize my opening and closing paragraphs. My thoughts and ideas should also be more creative. If my paper is easy to understand and is interesting I will succeed.

I think that in order to succeed in high school I should learn how to be organized. I think I should know what I am really trying to say and how to put it on paper in a way that sounds good and catches my readers attention. I also think that I should type because I can focus better if I type rather then hand writing. I also think that learning different methods of presenting ideas is important also. Finally I think that I could work on my research skills.

To be a successful writer in high-school, you need to be prepared for any type of writing. Whether it is on a non-fiction essay or a paper about a scientific or mathematical related topic. You need to be able to write in-class and out of class essays. In in-class essays you need to know the topic you are talking about and in out of class essays you are usually learning about the topic your writing because you usually have more time. You should use a process to revise and edit both of these essays and know that the process works.

To advance my writing this semester, I would need to extend my knowledge as to the organization of ideas, thoughts, and conclusions. I believe one of the hardest things to do as a writer is to know when to continue writing and when to cut off your essay and add in a conclusion. This semester I would benefit most by learning how to better my editing and revising techniques. If I were to do all of the above this semester, I would succeed in high school.

I believe that in order to succeed throughout the rest of high school, I need to know how to develop better in class essays. I find it difficult to manage my time when under pressure. If I take careful time when writing an in class essay, then I usually don't have enough time to finish. Although, when I rush through writing an essay it tends to makes the essay worse. I would like to learn how to manage time when writing an essay with a certain time limit.

I think in order to succeed in high school you need to have a basic writing method. And to make sure you dont get your words mumbled and unclear. Other thing you need to do is to not have run-on sentences,it's good to have a few periods here and there. One thing I think I really need to learn, and work on is to make my sensteces more clear and understandable.

In order to succeed in high school as a writer, I mostly need to learn how to better organize my essays including both paragraph structure/order and clarity of the main ideas in these paragraphs. In addition, I would like to learn how to do this quickly, rather than having to do multiple drafts and revises to make the essay more clear and effective. I feel as though this would help me to write more clearly by not having to spend so much time just thinking of how to begin the essay. These principles are the main things I need to learn in order to succeed in high school.

In order to succeed in high school as a writer, you need to start with the basics. Vocabulary, grammar, spelling, essay types, etc. You can't get anywhere unless you have a really solid foundation, then you can work with that. This is kind of what we covered in They Say/I Say. First, you learn how to do something properly, and after you've mastered that, you work on how to do it in your own way.

I think in order to succeed as a writer I need to learn how to make my essays have more fluidity so it doesn't seem like I jump around from one topic to the next. I also need to know how to make my thoughts be more clear so people will understand them. I think tying my thoughts together with the topic is another important aspect of writing so the reader knows my view on the subject.

In order to succeed in my high-school writing I need to do quite a few things so that it can improve to its maximum potential. I think that I need to read more so the daily 20 minutes is going to come in handy. The reason I need to read more is so that I get a better idea of what I need to do to make my sentences flow. After mastering this I will need to make sure I fully understand the "They Say/ I Say" format. Being organized and writing everything in my planner will also be helpful.

If I can improve on that as a writer it will greatly assist in my success as a high school writer.

In my opinon there are many ways to be a suceessful writer throughout high school. One being able to get your point across without being to assertive and also with out being to soft about it. Also keeping your thoughts all orginized, because if you are not orginized you cannot be clear at who or what your trying to prove.

In order to succeed in high school, there are some aspects of writing I definitely need to become better at. When I have a lot of detail, my paragraphs tend to be up to a page. I know that the more information I use in an essay the longer the paragraphs, but I feel that I have been over the top. How do I summarize all of that, without loosing information? Also, I was confused on citations. I think I need to go over that to be successful as well.

In order for me to succeed as a writer in high school I need to learn how to express my point clearly and strongly. I am constantly feeling that I am not writing what I truly mean; I might write what comes into my mind but it doesn’t come out as convincing as I would like it to be. I find myself adding "fluff" to my paragraphs because I don’t know what else to say without being repetitive. Learning how to structure my papers would help me get my point across effectively. Structuring a strong conclusion would help me end my papers strongly with my point. This semester I would like to learn how to make my point clear and strong to ensure that I will succeed in high school as a writer.

I believe in order to succeed as a writer in high school I must be able to properly format a piece of writing. I understand how it should be set up and the steps leading to the final product, but I am unable to make it flow without the extra 'fluff' that I don't need. I seem to stray away from my main focuss point of my essay, which will potentially distract the reader. To be a successful writer in high school I think I need to learn the balance of definition and example.

I think an important thing I have to improve on for high school is my essay length. I can never seem to write more than nine paragraphs. I will use up all of my information or knowledge so quickly. I think being able to expand my thoughts better will help me connect to my readers. I think I have been getting better at this as time progresses, but I need to take a big step forward and write, on average, fifteen paragraph essays.

In order to succeed as a high school writer, I think it would be greatly beneficial for me to learn how to actually write an in-class essay. In order to succeed as a writer in highschool, I need to learn better ways of how to construct essays in class. It seems when I am given time to research and collect all of my ideas it is much easier to put it on paper, however I am not given this time during final exams. I would also like to learn how to get the point of my writing across to the reader more clearly and effectivley. This goes along with the timed writing essays in class, I find myself jumping from topic to topic with no real theme to my paper. I think learning ways to cut out these pointless on goings of information would be helpful to myself and the reader.

I think to add depth to my writing I can use more descriptive language. I believe that if I work on these topics my understanding of writing will be broader. I would also like to do a better job of organizing my thoughts. Last semester They Say, I Say, really helped me organize my ideas. In order to do this I must be confident in the basics of writing papers and essay's, such as being confident in my thesis statement or making sure that my road map is easy to follow, and logical. Another thing I must do is be able to find intriguing subjects that I am excited to learn about and put a lot of effort into, not that I don’t already do this with my daily writing. Finding a topic also means that I need to be able to organize my thoughts about each topic that I decide to write about. After I complete these certain tasks I feel that I will become a successful high school writer.

I think that in high school writting it is important to know how to guide your writting to Perticular audience. When you are in high school you will have to write to a lot more teachers then just your English teacher. When writting to a different subject or teacher knowing how to alter your writting is very important. Some steps I think are important to altering your writting to fit different styles is, the word choice. What words you use can complete change a paper and the last thing is the different of essay format you use. I think that during your school years you learn how to change and alter your writting you will be a very successful writer.
