Out of the two books that we had for summer reading I enjoyed the book Unwind by Neal Shusterman the best.

Unwind is the story of three teenagers trying to survive in a time where any kid older thirteen and younger than eighteenth can be ‘’Unwound’’ you become slated for unwinding when your parent or guardian submits to the state that they want you unwound. Some of the reasons that parents unwind there kids is because the kid is in trouble a lot (kind of a handful), they don’t have aney money to raise the kid, they are a ward of the state and the state does not think that they are good enough to keep, or the parent raises the kid as a tithe (which means that they are given to be unwound to help others). To be unwound is to have a team of doctors that take every part of you, they cut off you ankles, then your legs, and then they take you organs and blood. They are required to use every part of you. than those par are given to others like organ donation.
The people the story is based around three main characters Risa, a ward of the state, Conner, a hard to handle kid, and Lev who is a tithe.
The reason I liked this book so much was because I loved how he could make us feel so much, you cheered when Conner knocks the cop out with his own tranquilizer gun and helps Risa escape. You felt sick when Conner talked about the baby that was left on his family 's doorstep and how the baby was passed around the neighborhood and finally died. You struggled with Lev as he had to revaluate his faith. By the end of the story I was emotionally involved with each of the characters and to me that’s what the mark of a true writer is .
