Tuesday, February 22 or Wednesday, February 23

Freshmen: Today we focused primarily on writing your argument essay. I gave you a checklist of 9 things that I am expecting:
1. Compelling title/proper format.
2. Identify lead and conclusion in header.
3. Use 3 of the rhetorical devices we have studied (i.e. like Spurlock did).
4. Use one blocked and one in text citation (search "citing sources" on this blog for examples).
5. Clear thesis/argument.
6. Support thesis well with facts.
7. Paragraph well (8-19ish).
8. Entire paper should be correct in terms of grammar and format.
9. Complete bibliography.

Sophomores: Today we continued on with the four stages of the hero and began reading The Kite Runner. Our reading schedule looks like this:
Monday, March 1: Chapters 1-10 due (about 18 pages a night).
Monday, March 8: Chapters 11-19 due (about 20 pages a night).
Monday, March 15: Book and seminar prep due (about 21 pages a night). Seminar this date.

CNF: We had our seminar on Part I of The World Without Us. Keep bringing this book. The next one you need is Season of Life by Marx (no, Bruger - not that Marx - Jeffrey Marx).
