Sophomores: Period 8 finished The Power of One today and will begin The Alchemist on Friday. Periods 7 and 1 will have The Power of One finished Monday, and start The Alchemist Tuesday. We concluded our essays on what we have learned from The Power of One, and you can type it up and turn it in by Tuesday for extra credit.
Freshmen: We started studying the rhetorical device of example. You should choose 1 essay from Chapter 4 in Short Takes and read it; you should also choose one of the essay options at the top of page 137 and write up an essay for Tuesday. It should be at least 7 paragraphs - work on using paragraphs more effectively.
