December 18, 19, and 20

This is kind of a combo, because I had to miss school Tuesday:

Sophomores: The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is due Friday. Be sure to finish it. We listened to an interview with Matthew Sanford ("The Body's Grace") and discussed the mind-body connection, as well as the relationship we have with our bodies and how this impacts our personal philosophies.

Your semester project can be handed in any time this week, and is due no later than 1/07/08.

Freshmen: Sleeping Dogs is due Friday. We continued our discussion of compare-contrast, focusing mainly on two texts, Cat Stevens's "Father and Son" and Langston Hughes's "Mother to Son." We also read "Playing House" from Short Takes.
